Starr County Sheriff's receives three (3) emergency rescue vehicles from the United States Military to be used for special operations. The vehicles were given free of charge to the sheriff's office as they became available as surplus military equipment. The vehicles will also be utilized to assist officers to rescue residents in case of flooding or other emergencies. Officers will receive training to operate this vehicles in order to prepare in case of disasters or other emergencies.
