RGC Library Offers New Online Language Learning System

Rio Grande City, TX, Feb 7, 2011 — Rio Grande City Public Library is pleased to announce that it now offers the Mango Languages online language-learning system to its patrons.

Mango is free for all library patrons, and offers a fast and convenient solution for our language-learning needs. Each lesson combines real life situations and audio from native speakers with simple, clear instructions. The courses are presented with an appreciation that integrates components of vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar and culture.
Mango is available in two versions.  One is Mango Basic, which teaches everyday  greetings, gratitudes, goodbyes and helpful phrases in a short period of time and is designed to appeal to a beginner in a new language. The courses are currently available in 22 foreign languages and 15 English as a Second Language (ESL) courses.  The second is Mango Complete, a 100-lesson course that is designed to provide a deep understanding of a language and its culture. It is available in nine foreign language and three ESL courses.

"We are thrilled to add our library to the growing list of libraries across the country who have added Mango to their resources," said Norma G Fultz, director.          To learn more about Mango and get a preview of what the program has to offer, stop by the library and we will give you an introduction.  You can access Mango via the library website at www.rgclibrary.org or you can also visit the company's website at www.mangolanguages.com .  Even better, if you have your library card and have access to the Internet, you can access the actual courses remotely from anywhere!
